What we collect
When you interact with HARLAND, we may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, shipping address.
- Order data: products purchased, order value, payment confirmation, and delivery status.
- Account information: login credentials and preferences (if you create an account).
- Device & usage data: browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interaction data collected via analytics.
- Communications: messages you send us via email or WhatsApp.
How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- Fulfil and deliver your orders.
- Send order updates via email and SMS.
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Send marketing communications (no more than once a month, and only with your consent).
- Detect and prevent fraud.
- Improve our website and products through anonymous analytics.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or syndicate your data. We share your information only with the following categories of service providers, strictly for order fulfilment and site operation:
- Payment processors — to process transactions securely.
- Shipping partners (Delhivery, BlueDart, Ekart) — to deliver your order.
- Advertising (Meta) — to measure which of our ads lead to orders. See Cookies below for exactly what is shared.
- Hosting (Vercel, Supabase) — to operate our website and database.
Information transmitted to these service providers may be processed outside India in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Payment security
All payment transactions are encrypted using SSL. We do not store complete credit card or debit card numbers on our servers. Payments are processed through PCI-DSS compliant gateways with two-factor authentication.
We do not send marketing messages on WhatsApp. Your phone number is used only for order delivery confirmation and, if absolutely necessary, by the courier partner.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep your cart and your signed-in session working. These are always active, because the site cannot function without them.
Advertising cookies are active by default when you visit the site. We use:
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API — to measure which of our ads lead to orders. When you place an order we send Meta the order value and items, together with a hashed (irreversible) form of your email address and phone number, your IP address, and your browser user agent. If you have an account, a hashed form of your account ID is included as well.
If you arrive from a Meta ad, the click identifier contained in that link is stored on your device so a resulting order can be attributed to the ad you clicked.
We do not use Google Ads remarketing. To opt out, block or clear cookies for this site in your browser settings, or use your browser's Do Not Track or tracking-protection setting. You can also email hello@harland.in and we will suppress analytics and advertising processing for you.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@harland.in. We respond within 7 business days.
Data retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil orders, provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
